Hunting Cowgirl Fashion Finds-Look in Unusual Places

I believe there’s an art to hunting for  cowgirl fashion finds. Look in unusual places.  It’s sometimes like hunting for Bigfoot.  Some people are all about the process of the hunt and some are just about the trophy.  Like my metaphor or is that an analogy?  I’ll ask a teacher.

Hunting cowgirl fashion finds does not exclusively occur in western stores. Cowgirl fashion is often the combination of items that can come from many places brought together with great accessories.

My favorite items, those which receive many compliments, have often been found at unexpected places. A great price on any item always moves it up the list in fashion finds.

I have, over the decades, found you must hunt for pieces in  all  sorts  of locations to assemble a cowgirl fashion find.  The flea market, on-line, craft shows, travel stores at events, discount stores, and high-end retail can all be great hunting grounds for the cowgirl fashion find. It is rare I have put together a complete look from one location.

My latest attempt at capturing the elusive “easy shopping experience” was an  on-line shopping service,  Stitch Fix.

I have tried this service 4 times. I can state there are both negatives and positives to this system.  Part of the system relies on a stylist “listening” to your needs as you complete your profile.

This is what I received on the latest shipment.

I thought I was specific about not being thrilled about anything sleeveless.  Though strong, my arms have succumbed to gravity.  Yet my stylist sent the Spade and Heart sleeveless embroidered detail top. It’s cute, but I would only wear it as a layering piece.  That limits me.

The Kut from the Kloth jeans fit great, though I had to hem 1 ½” off the short version with the 3” heel of the BC footwear that also fit great and were very comfortable. Not the pants fault.  However, 2 days after wearing these pants, low and behold, look what I found.

While hunting for cowgirl fashion finds, I rifled through Marshalls clearance rack. They  had these same jeans as shown in the picture, but I noticed only the one size on the rack.  Nordstrom also carries these jeans for a comparable price.

The last issue I had was the Mix By Hawthorn knit tee.  Pardon the picture, but really. Don’t zoom in, because I have a 4 inch scar down my cleavage that does not need to be emphasized. (I knew you’d zoom).  I tell anyone that asks, I had my heart removed, and turn and walk away.  People can be nosey, and why are the looking? Top is too low cut

The red cardigan was supremely soft and cuddly.  A reasonable deal.
