My name is Diane.
I was raised in the very conservative area of Orange County, California. This was the land of great beaches, weather and a society propelled to great wealth by unlimited opportunities.
When my parents decided to leave Orange County, the land of diminishing agriculture, they moved to the central valley of California. My father took a ranch manager position for a large citrus facility. It came with a beautiful ranch house backed up against rugged foothills and with a horse coral out front. They promised I could have a horse and so I agreed to follow.
I encountered many bumps and pot holes in the years following my family’s move. Those hiccups all led me to an exciting chapter. For over 20 years, I have been adjusting to a way of life that is unique and surprising to most of the people that I knew before this transformation occurred, because I married a cowboy.
